- The psychologist working at the nursery school "Gandriukas" assesses the child's strengths and difficulties, developmental characteristics, psychological, personality and educational problems.
- Cooperates with educators, preschool educators, speech therapists, and other specialists working with the child, planning ways to achieve educational goals and objectives.
- Consults with children with psychological, personality and educational problems, their parents (guardians, caregivers) on issues of solving these problems.
- Prepares individual recommendations for solving the child's psychological, personality and educational problems.
- Initiates, prepares and implements psychological problem prevention programs that help avoid psychological, personality and educational problems.
- Participates in forming a positive attitude of the institution's community towards children with psychological, personality and educational problems.
- Educates the institution's community on issues of child developmental psychology, pedagogical and social psychology.
- Collects and compiles information necessary to solve the problems of the children being consulted, in cooperation with the institution's community and, if necessary, with other institutions.
- Conducts psychological research relevant to the institution.
