Speech therapists provide comprehensive assistance to children, correct language, speech and communication disorders, and carry out preventive activities:
- comprehensively examine children's speech (pronunciation, vocabulary, phonemic perception, grammatical structure, coherent speech), conduct an initial assessment of educational needs, and provide recommendations for the provision of educational assistance;
- conduct speech therapy exercises, select appropriate work methods and techniques, taking into account children's abilities, the nature of language, speech and communication disorders, children's employment and personal characteristics;
- cooperate with parents (guardians), provide methodological consultations, and invite them to join the corrective process;
- actively participate in the activities of the VGK, organize and coordinate the provision of educational assistance, and consult teachers and the institution's community on special education issues.
